Let’s say Speedy Pros that are at least 25 years old which is really neo-vintage, but hey, who’s counting! Pics required and pics with comments or stories, even better.

My contribution: 1971 145.022 on an 1175/640 bracelet. This is the last reference where we have the step dial (until 2021!) and the first reference with the “flight qualified by NASA ... the first watch worn on the moon” language AND the hippocampus medallion on the case back.

My Three Speedys

1. 145.012-68 Transitional
Bought in auction, paid more then I wanted to at the time. Mint, essentially unworn condition with all boxes, papers and complete bracelet with all links and, a pain to remove, the original springbars.

2. 105.012-66 HF Case
Bought from a local vintage watch dealer for a fair price. Great looking patina, that is what attracted me to watch, and in excellent condition. One slight problem… which I have found out is not that uncommon, the wrong caseback as caseback is marked 105.012-66 CB… oops

3. 105.012-66 CB
Bought from an Omega Forum member. I wanted to complete the set. The facets are still clearly visible and overall pleasing to the eye. Yes, some lume is missing, but that gives it character.

All vintage, except one.
The short version of the long story is this: I've owned modern Speedy Pros since 2000, took a years long detour into sport Rolex, and eventually realized I enjoy wearing Speedmasters more. Started buying vintage Speedies in 2018 and here we are.

My 145.022-71 from 1973 dressing 1175/640 bracelet
I have an 1175/640 on my '71 also. In my opinion, it's far superior to the 1039 and the 1171. Much sturdier than the 1039 but still has the flat link appearance which the 1171 lacks. The 1171 is also a brutal hair puller.

Completely agree! I had the 1171/633 on my previous 145.022-74 that was unfortunately stolen....
