And its humble younger brother - the 18k, Polerouter de Luxe

Its rose 18k cousin, still with its yellow generic crown...:whipped:

And then there is a capped 2577, chronometre Seamaster that I have no decent picture of. It is still at the servicepoint

Another bad pic - of an American cased capped/plated Globemaster

I will PM you the info. Using the info - though, would make the "thread" part in my byline redundant/obsolete...馃槈

Oops. Not sure about the double pix.

I think you can edit the message and delete the unwanted copies.

Well, joy! I'm happy that this thread started because it reminded me that I have a solid gold watch (my only solid gold watch) at a local vintage watchmaker being serviced...it's been there for about two months waiting on a part. So I just called the local vintage watchmaker and he stated I should have the watch by the end of this week.

But, snap! I don't have any pics of it...so here's a pic (of a pic) from my 2015 Complete Price Guide To Watches reference book. It's one of three watches that I inherited from my father after he passed away in 1996. I don't know much about it other than it's freaking small...like a girly-man watch...and as a result of it being freaking small, it's sort of difficult to read due to my tired eyes.

Anyway, thanks for the reminder that I have one solid gold watch...I forgot all about it!

only gold plated I'm afraid
obscure French make 'Comet' (aren't they all...) from Savoie region (next door to Switzerland)
Lorsa 237B -early rotor automatic
Dr Ranfft says movement dates from around 1945 but other sources suggest early 50s
unusual 'Vienna Secessionist' style numerals reminiscent of Russian watches but pre-dates them
probably copper numerals and hour markers rather than rose gold -very French
antichoc
bagobloc waterproof case back system

the peculiar spring bracing system is entirely original -in every sense of the meaning

Not valuable but I'm very fond of it
