Decided to stop by a jeweler that advertised they accepted trades and had used Rolexes while in Sarasota, FL for vacation. I’ve been thinking about selling my older Seamaster Pro and hunting down a 14270 or 114270. Thought I might as well see if the jeweler had one.

Lo and behold, they had an early 114270 and the asking price was substantially lower than I had seen online. More importantly, they wanted my Sea master AND offered a more than fair trade value.

guess what I walked out with?

now I just have to find my wife a gold/steel Ballon Bleu to be fair 😉

PS We also left our 12-year old white gold wedding bands and my wife’s engagement band to be cleaned and have the rhodium replated while we had lunch. When I came back, they told me they decided not to charge me for the replating since I bought the watch! Now that’s service.

My EXII polar from W series (T dial/hands, single lock, holes case) has been waiting for me at my brother's place in Japan since mid last year and I still haven't seen it in person. I hope my brother hasn't got a watch bug (yet)...

Great find. Hard to pick these up as a complete set. I know this was over a year ago, and the market has changed, but did you get this online or did he pick it up in person in Japan?

I found this online, but the seller has a showroom where I have visited. After speaking with the manager over the phone, I sent the money via international Bank TT. He didn't want to send it to me in Australia and so it was sent to my brother in Japan.
