This one is a 2782, but hey, let's not discriminate 😁

No completely factory original.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. That watch was indeed a great find. It also came with the original gold plated buckle, which I’m reluctant to use because unlike the gold cap case, the gold plating on the buckle is likely to come off and deteriorate with time...

Should I not use the original buckle at all to preserve its value and find an after market buckle instead? Or should I just wear the original and if so, how do I keep it in reasonably good condition?

Thanks for your advice! Cheers!

If it's really in top nick, I'd just put it aside and wear it with a different gold plated generic buckle. I'd avoid aftermarket but that's just the purist in me.

Ummmmm, it's already 60 years old, and looking fine, wear it because it's original and enjoy the great combo, IMHO.

Bought this on ebay, a 2852-9...

After an external cleaning and the fitting of a more proper BOR:

Usually not a fan of the Connie, I find the pie pan, text and convoluted indexes too much, but this one speaks to me. Hopefully the dial is original to the watch.

If this is a ref. 2852, the dial is not original, unfortunately.

Why, because of stick indexes?

I must admit, I had some doubts myself. But I just (feverishly!) checked, the dial feet are intact, AFAIK 50x and 55x dials are not interchangeable without tinkering with them. So I don't see how it could not be a 50s dial; it may be a 60s service dial though, I never saw any. No sign of redialling.

Some examples of 2852s with dome dial / stick indexes:
