As I said, I agree that there were also dome dials with stick markers, but they looked different. Sorry, but no harder evidence from my side. I believe it's a service dial. I'm sure some experts will chime in.
Oh good lord.. How is that even possible?? Those watches are about 70 years old.. that's just rediculous!
Does anybody know what a stainless white gold furniture arrowhead pie pan in reasonable condition goes for now a days? Not asking about these perfect factory condition ones.. just a unmolested patina'ed but still with bevel and all stars, etc. Also I have a sliding clasp bor for it. Around $2000? Or less? More?
Finally, ref.2852 big arrowhead cross-hair pie pan is the best of all Constellations out there (my opinion)
I wish I got one . Missed out on a deal . I will keep nagging the guy until he sells me his. Now no more 14381 comment
Nobody wants to sell their own 2852, especially in that condition. Except if he have two of them or more. Again, not a 100% sure
It is indeed in very good condition. Not perfect. In artificial backlight you can see tiny spots on the middle part of the dial. Normal ageing, does not bother me at all. Never saw a better untouched example. Yes 2k USD should already take you somewhere. These very fine examples are more towards the 3k USD border these days, but an average example should be source-able for 2k. The thing is, they do not come up for sale that often... Completely agreed. The 2782 is sold to a watch buddy of mine. The differences; this is an early 2852 (14mio serial) with dome dial but with rotor cal. 501 instead of the 2782 bumper movement. The 2782 indeed had white gold furniture, this 2852 has yellow gold furniture. This one is staying with me for sure!
Yes this one had the original elephant leather strap, and the original buckle. Gorgeous example, with the best preserved dial I had ever seen. Spotless, mint, perfect.
