Hello, I'm just entering the world of vintage omegas and had just encountered this 2577-13 gold cap case with a 351 bumper calibre (13.15m). I can't really find much information of the 2577-13 case while the dial has no "Seamaster" labeling (unlike most of other 2577s).Does this item seems good and being a good choice to buy? Best, TTL
Thanks for the suggestion! I could only feel something weird going on with this piece but can't recognize specific problems, should see more!
I'm a novice also but learning what to look for, especially in the never ending horrible looking redial category. This one, like many, looks like it was done with a 2" paint brush. Be patient and find one you'll appreciate.
Hi TTL, Welcome to the forum. You can start your journey into the rabbit hole from here https://omegaforums.net/threads/learn-how-to-fish.52603/
This is my 2577-4, with a 1950 351 bumper movement and an identical gold filled case. Like the one you’re looking at, the face doesn’t say 'Seamaster'. The big difference is the painted dial. These are not pie pan but two-tone painted which gives a slight pie-pan effect. You don’t say what price you were quoted but mine was a £400 buy it now eBay gamble earlier this year. These seem to be readily available at around £500 - 700 in reasonable condition. You should also look at the 2767 case with a 354 movement if you’re keen on this style. It’s a shame about the poor redial on the one you posted because the case looks quite nice.
