Ok, here's the latest of the "surprise, you bought a watch last night!" saga...definitely a statement piece, and feels a bit like a boat anchor, but ya gatta love this chunky funky slice of the '70's!

And if you tire of it......it would be a fantastic Trout lure.....just need to attach a treble hook and clip the barbs.👍

Ya not under the influence but I just made someone an offer on a vintage GS. Enough insomnia and you are equal to under the influence. Sad thing is I went to deposit checks in the bank ATM and they got all caught up in the machine. In the morning the tech called and said he can’t get them out needs to call a more advanced tech so if the offer is accepted I’m not sure how I am going to pay for the GS. You ever bid on stuff hoping it’s not accepted, I’m feeling that way right now. I mean I can figure it out I’m not crying poor here but 3checks jammed in the ATM is souring the mood here. I do have someone wanting to buy one of my vintage guitars tomorrow but I was hoping to make an excuse to keep it, I can’t play with my screwed up hand but I keep hoping one day I’ll get better. If he accepts the offer I guess I’ll be saying bye to my 1970 guid bass. Damn I’m working on other deals why do I do this stuff. Oh boy this will be fun to explain to mrs walrus.

I hope all works out smoothly for you. And I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with your hand. Deep breaths...

Oh thanks Dave nice of you but the hand is much better I’m not disabled just can’t play the bass that well like I once did. I’ve been trying to get back in the acoustic as the strings are easier to manipulate it’s really only two fingers that got heavily damaged but that’s enough to make bass playing difficult, truly though I can do most things I could have been much worse

Despite my efforts to prune down the stable, I did it again- made an offer that I don’t remember and woke up with this in my cart

Should clean up beautifully- now to just track down the damn factory bracelet! Maybe my unconscious brain will find it...it seems to be much more crafty than I normally am.

That could have been subliminal from me when I was talking about only wearing the 333 then we had that little theology discussion or did you black that out to. Seriously though I dig those 333 I just have too many wants snd irons in the fire with watches but I don’t blame u for getting that, way cool.

Well my insomniac purchase for a 1970 GS, the offer was accepted. Boy this will piss mrs walrus off. Luckily the checks stuck in the ATM were cleared, bank called yesterday. I am going to post pics of the GS as I really need help to determine if it’s original etc, darn sometimes these impulsive purchases work out I’m not 100% on this one

You bought a 1970 GS online, that's gutsy. I don't think I'd ever but a car online.😗

So last weekend went out to my first brunch in ages and had a few to many bloody mary’s and just happened I have this in my watch list on the bay and got too excited over with drunken bidding. Next day I was disappointed what I spent on a no name diver but it does sure looks nice and case is stainless steel.

I bought the same one a few months back. I was surprised my relatively low offer was accepted, and was delighted when it arrived to me so clean. It came on a Bulova bracelet (not original to the watch as it had an Accutron logo on it). I put it on a matching dark grey strap from Veblenist and it pretty much turned into my everyday watch.

That is a nice one. Good pickup.

I was working the other day on a document on my laptop but skimming through eBay on my phone at the same time. Saw a low bid monnin case and thought cool why not place a bid. Completely forgot about it until later when I got a “you won” email. Never heard of barracuda watch but it’s just one jewel quartz. I’ll sport it once in a while until I can get my hands on a real Heuer monnin 844. Just realized it’s Saturday 17th not Sunday 18th per the watch
