On the Vantage, I have only ever seen this dial/hand combo in a bezeled diver- this one was an oddity being in a standard case. When I got it I thought it was a Franken (what did I buy??? Ugh!), but upon taking it apart, the movement ring is a perfect fit to the case, the case is TK&co just as the bezeled version is- it appears to be all original (the crystal replacement aside). I was pleasantly surprised. As I said, if I had been conscious, I wouldn’t have bought it due to too many red flags...maybe my ID is smarter than my ego...hmmm

FWIW, I've seen a lot of of lume mismatch on this type of watches, even on Yema or Lip. And those bezelless things with diver dials are less common than pure divers but are legit too imho.

This one I did have a conversation with the seller- I reread it after- nice guy, apparently I may be going on vacation with him soon

We can't keep meeting like this; I have a responsibility to my family.

I had quite the insomnia for a long time. Still do but it's going much better. It's one of the reasons I joined OF. Also took a subscription on american sports channels so I could watch the pga tour and NBA. American sports and watches in the middle of the night. Perfect combination. Dont drink though before sleeping. Maybe I should. Although smoking a joint seems better. Sadly I quite smoking. And it's a bit odd if I start blowing again after 20 years. I'm trying to be a good example for my kids.

Anyway, good luck with your insomnia!

I sometimes do have such situations when I bet on something(s) on eBay late at night, after a few drinks, and I wake up the next morning, remembering vaguely what I've done... And then praying someone has outbid me!

Keep the story coming though 😀

I find I have a lot more trouble with coffee than I do with booze. Drunk me just likes to enjoy the watches I already have; over-caffeinated me says I GOTTA BUY THAT WATCH YES BUY IT I NEED IT IT WILL WORK ON THAT STRAP I HAVEN'T WORN IN A WHILE BUY IT IT'S COOL ACTUALLY I DO LIKE THAT BEZEL DESIGN IT'S EVER SO SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM THAT WATCH I ALREADY HAVE AND IT'S DEFINITELY GONNA BE A WHOLE DIFFERENT WEARING EXPERIENCE SO BUY IT ALREADY etc etc

Lol, I love your caffeinated brain voice all in caps/italic/bold- I know that voice.

Redial. Numbers aren't green 😉
The mismatch on some of these, I see as part of their charm. We have to remember that these companies were pulling parts from different vendors so the lume was all over the place- some match, some don’t.
The vintage Rolex guys pitch a fit and scream relume if the dial and hands are one shade off of ecru to putty- but they too are off the mark as Rolex also sourced hand and dials from different places. I can confidently say that the hands and dial on my GMT matched when I got it 20 years ago and have aged differently (dial has gone light mustard as the hands remain lemon). I still can’t figure out why the blue in my bezel is still bold and bright but the red has gone pale magenta. It never has been exposed to salt water or chlorine during my time and rarely sees sunlight under my sleeves...just funky aging I guess.

More evidence that it's easier to buy than to sell.

Let me know if you start selling watches at 3am. I usually wake up then because, well, I'm old.

@JwRosenthal
You are in the American continent, right? So your influenced insomnie will be around my brunch/lunch time. Good good... I got a few non working pieces that we could talk about then 😗... 😁

So the Wyler came in, a quick clean and tighten of the Kreisler bracelet (links were a little stretched out), and it’s keeping perfect time for the last 24hrs. Crystal could use wet sand and some light crud under it that will clean out when serviced.

This is a Shockmaster I hadn’t seen before, I vaguely remember being excited- and apparently I bought it- got a good deal on it too. Needs a crystal, but dial looks great and also keeping perfect time the last 24 hours.

I was into my third whiskey by the fire on a miserably blustery, cold winter day when this posted. It lasted less than 20 minutes. I didn’t hesitate. Better lucky and drunk than good.

So this was in my cart this morning. Seems I made an offer and it was accepted. Not running, but they had AS movements so should be an easy fix. Bracelet is aftermarket so will need to track down the correct one (anyone know the lug size?). Looks to be in good shape though.

My unconscious brain also apparently shops for my lady. I saw this thing in my purchased items for $20- I apparently made an offer and they accepted. Cleaned up nicely I think.

Yes. Sleep deprivation, a couple good whisky's, and that ever so dangerous Recommended Good Value thread you post so many finds has meant I've also needed to buy two more watch cases this past year!
