I've been cutting my own hair for 15 years or so. How are the rest of you are getting by during the pandemic?
I've been cutting my hair the last 2 years. Once I got down the awkwardness of using a hand mirror, wasn't so bad.
I couldn't stand it anymore. I found a rusty clippers in the garage and had the warden do the honors. After experimenting with several settings, I gave up and told her to just use the zero setting on the back of the neck, and a 1 everywhere else. It'll grow back, no worries.
Shaggy. Preparing to let Mrs. duc have a go at it. I need to go to the office Friday, so it'll have to be done between now and then.
Since I’m basically bald, I use a trimmer and buzz what’s left once a week. Have been for a long time.
Got a bit lucky and had a haircut the night before lockdown, I’m good for another 2 weeks before breaking out the clippers. But I can get by with a straight #6 buzz cut, it used to be my usual summer cut so wifey can do it if needed.
I was way overdue for a haircut and a shave 3 weeks ago. Apparently, for some reason, none of my razors seem to be working these days. I think a show of solidarity with the person who usually cuts my hair. Which is odd, as they are straight and safety razors, and you would think they would still work. But what do I know...
I got seriously lucky and opted for a f**kit don't care cut just before this all started. So, am currently sporting a small 'tail with beard trimmered sides thanks to a half cut Mrs Wiv. Anyone else have a deal with friends that they have to go out drinking on first opportunity before getting a professional in to sort the hairy carnage?
Like you I've been cutting my own hair for the last 4 years. Been getting fairly good at it but I still manage to surprise myself on occasion - sometimes for good and sometimes not so good. The latter results in MUCH shorter hair.
I can coast fork while. My barber does house calls if I can round up another head or two. Meanwhile, I haven’t shaved for two weeks!
Yeppers...starting to have some wig problems. Can’t get the wig busted by the pro wig busters here in Cincinnati, Ohio due to lockdown... Fixed...whipped out one of the almighty wig mashers...
I was about a week overdue for a haircut when the lockdown started, and I'll be at a pretty bad place by the end of the week or so. I have a job that requires a decent amount of video meetings, so I don't want to just buzz it all off - but I have curly/wavy hair and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get myself to a presentable level with the beard trimmer I have. Any suggestions?
I broke out the shears yesterday, but my daughter has forbidden me from shaving my face. We'll see how my isolation beard comes along.
