·If I understand my dealer correctly, Omega is now more or less dictating the prices. According to him, they are no longer allowed to give high discounts. On the other hand, he'll probably get his margin cut too. So big discounts are hard to come by. Omega wants to keep prices stable and fight the gray market.
That is what my AD said also. They honoured the pre-increase price on the FOIS I bought in May, but are no longer "negotiating" on the more popular Omegas (SMPs, Speedies, etc) but are able to on outgoing or less popular models (RMs, discontinued LEs, stuff they've had on the shelves for years). I think the days of automatic 15-25% discounts on Omegas may have passed, although whether they can hold that line on pricing if. say, SS Rolexes become more widely available, is an open question I suppose.
