Super nice watch, but I don't think I will ever justify paying $5k for it.

I expect it to sell out very quickly.

Personally any one who pays over 4 grand for the reissue 6105 is crazy when a vintage one the original can be had for 3 times less. Think I got about 500 bucks in mine 250 for a fixer upper 20 bucks for a after market 6105 crystal, 150 for a service and about 100 bucks for relume touch up and clean up of hands and dial the lume and crystal was in really bad shape it had to be done. Dam I miss the days of picking up vintage watches before the price jump but fixer uppers can still be had to save a buck just make sure the movement physically sound the dial hands and bezel insert are in fair shape the crystal the only after market item I would ever use since Seiko don't make them any more my one pet pea on vintage watches a really messed up crystal that's a eye sore.

Some great Willards shown here!

I think good ones are a little more expensive by now, but still: yes, true.

I don't think I've ever consciously seen a 6106-7107... nice one 🥰

From Fratello:

Seiko’s First Orange Diver
The first generation Seiko Orange Monster was a smash hit and it led to a lot of collectors looking for other orange Seiko divers. While there have been several, there’s only one “first”. The first happens to be the 6106-7107 and was produced in 1969 through 1971. The watch features a UFO like case that was later used on the Sushi Roll which we’ll cover in a bit. It has an internal bezel that rotates via use of the time setting crown. Unlike on our previously discussed watch, the Orange Diver contains a Hardlex mineral crystal instead of acrylic. Also, this is one Sports Diver that is usually found on its bracelet.

Nothing special but she’s my lead blocker for my Seamaster. And she’s doing a great job
