I have never owned a Seiko before, but this dive watch popped up at my watchmakers. It’s 2 years old and NOS. he’s asking $525. I like the purposeful look, Any thoughts on it?

buy it !!! ... this particular model ... looking at the dial .. is a model that houses a movement MADE IN JAPAN ... if U like it ... and ur budget permits ... GET IT ... !!!!
All padi are that Version. And honestly it’s not a 200 dolllar difference between Malay and Nipon mfg less then 30 bucks normally.
like i said ... if u can find a model with a MADE in JAPAN movement ... in the US for 375 more or less ... BUY IT ...
if U can find one with a JAPAN Movement for sale ... for 375 ... buy it ..... if u come across one for sale ... for 500 plus ... negotiate with the seller .... PADI with MADE in JAPAN movement is more desirable and will command a better resale amount ... if flipped
if u are wondering why the price is a bit HIGHER than a new PADI with a movement made in singapore or malaysia ... it is because this one has a movement MADE IN JAPAN ... they are always sold by their owners @ a higher price ... they are more desirable to serious Seiko FANATICS
Guys, there ARE THREE VERSIONS of the PADI TURTLE dial. Those that claim "MADE IN JAPAN" on the dial, MOV'T JAPAN, and those that don't state where it was made (and only have the caliber). 1) MOV'T JAPAN - like mine 2) MADE IN JAPAN - not mine 3) and NO JAPAN nor Malaysia
And a value difference of less then 30 bucks. Heck vintage pieces that are much more rare don’t put that 200 bucks difference on valuation. Nor 40% value difference. The original piece was valued at msrp which is easily beaten.
