On a serious note, these watches do have merit upon close consideration.
Perhaps, I need to discard preconceived notions and rigid ideology....hmmmmmm.

There's at least one (not me) but this is a pretty male dominated interest.

I am currently actively looking for a King Seiko chronometer and have these in the stable.
This for weekends and playing outdoors with my kids 20160101_093125.jpg

This one I bought when I was first collecting as it is blue and a birth year

    20160101_093552.jpg

And this one, bought as it is rare and unusual but it has a battery so it will be up on eBay next week to fund something new

All in all Seiko probably offer the best bang for buck for any watch manufacturer.

    It is a 6138-8020 / 8040 T

Be aware that there are quite a lot of refinished dials pretending to be this ref. Research as always before buying.

Here is my everyday watch - 1965 Weekdater. Keeps perfect time, I love the style of it! Looking to replace with a Seamaster Cosmic - though I'll definitely hang on to this too.

Two midsize 33mm automatics - 1970s and 1980s, which I wear all the time.

    Thank you!
The one on the right is a Japanese market original bracelet? I like the taper on a watch this size.
Do you find it comfortable and adjustable to a medium wrist, say 7.25 - 7.5" ?
I might have to try to find one of these.

It was your posting on WRUW that prompted me to start this thread! I must dig up my late 70s Seiko and post a picture later today.

Yup, that's the correct bracelet for the JDM Speedtimer 6139-6000.
Very funky, and very comfortable to wear.
I'll keep a lookout for you...they're not uncommon.
Here's one on EbayPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network....condition's bleah, but the bracelet is correct.

6309 from 1977..... a good and faithful friend. The last time it went in for service at Seiko it arrived back at the jeweler with a message attached: Take good care of it, they don't make them like this anymore.

And my wife's Lassale from about 1988, nice, but forgotten, watches

Thanks, most kind of you, wonder if there is a reference number for those bracelets and if it would fit the 6005 19mm lug width.

I'm not aware of a reference number but being Seiko I won't be at all surprised if there was indeed one.
6139-600x all share the same case, so for sure the JDM bracelet will fit your 6139-6005.
But AFAIK, only the JDM Seiko 5 Sports Speedtimers have that JDM bracelet as original.

Awww shucks... I'm honored and happy to have inspired!

When I see this thread, sometimes I think the watch that takes a licking and keeps on ticking is really a Seiko!

Here is my titanium version of the 7A28. I've heard of some sort of military connection with the 7A28's but haven't looked into it yet. Up until now, I've just thrown all the Seikos into the misc box (except divers and chronos). Now I'm digging and sorting ;)
