I think I haven't posted that one here yet, 1974'ish 6138-8020 It's receiving a full service atm, I will post pictures when I get her back. Cheers, Max Ps: Some beautiful Seikos in this Thread, some of which I've never seen before, but are now high on my wishlist.... Off to eBay it is! Keep them coming you enablers!
Hi Max, FYI the first two numbers of Seiko serial numbers represent the year/month (1-9,O,N,D) of manufacture so yours is from July 1973.
Working, needing service, and much to nice not to have a nice crystal. PM me. A bit fractured at 12 and six on edges. 1968 Bell- Matic 27j
Here's a 7548-7000, a rather recent acquisition... Side by side with its older, distant relative, a King Seiko 44999
First post! I just picked up this Seiko Prospex Samurai SRPB55 last week when I was out hoping to find the new Presage Cocktail Time. I am still surprised at how much I am loving the gold/yellow accents as I'm not huge on gold. I also have an SKX007 which I'll have to grab a picture of at some point.
Love those Seikos! Affordable, for the most part, reliable, and cool plus they have a history of going into space Seikos -Pogue + Astronaut- fit in well into a Speedmaster collection Have and original Seiko band for the Yachtmaster on the left, but it's too small for my wrist-1970 6105 in the center-1972 Astronaut on right-1983-the type of watch Sally Ride and others wore into space on the space shuttle Challenger in 1983 Mine is the black version A829-6029
These 19mm lugs are fun aren't they?! Finally found a strap I fancied in the right lug width, and long enough for my fat wrists... mmm... honey camels... or something.
I'm going straight down the bespoke strap route with the seiko when it comes back from service ...I feel your pain.
I nearly went that route... but something about the Hirsch Camelgrain in Honey kept calling to me. I'd bet that when these watches were sold, they pretty much came on a bracelet, or black leather... but the honey takes this a bit more casual... which is perfect for me.
i have this one on its way, Seiko 5 Sports Speedtimer 6139 7020 JDM from '72......hopefully by Monday! It needs a bit of work to align the date Wheel, but @Sir Alan can fix it! This months Time4aPint is shaping up to be a Seiko only "Show and Tell" P.S. photo and arm are not mine
