Geez! You guys like Seiko's? I left the Omega forum when I became interested in non-Omega watches. Last month I bought my first Seiko for $10 at a flea market, and put a crystal and strap on it:
I added these later, but wasn't as lucky with the price:
Adding to the growing list: another 7016, this one known as the Tank or the Nautilus (although the first examples precede the Patek Philippe Nautilus by a few years, and the PP Nautilus chrono by a few decades). This is the 7016-5020, from October 1976.
Finally received my beloved 6309-7049 (on left) back from being regulated...so now I can display my recently purchased SRP777K1 (on right) alongside...29 years difference regarding purchasing both machines new and 30 years difference regarding manufacture...man, I really groove on this stuff! 👍
As the "watch guy" among my friends all of a sudden I seem to be getting gifted old watches on a regular basis. Just got an email letting me know this is my latest watch to add to the collection, should take possession soon. Was a recently deceased friends father's watch and is apparently still in the envelope he received from the coroner when his father passed away some years ago.....I know very little about it as I have only seen this one photo thus far.
OK some of you might have seen it already, yet: I actually like it very much.
Arrived some days ago. SKX009k2
Enjoy it, they grow on you the more you wear it. You think you like it now, wait until you start looking for excuses to wear it! I wear my 009 more often then you would think. Just don't give in and get a 007! If he black starts singing to you, get the Turtle!
The Seiko PADI is finally available (from Malaysia anyway; search on watchrecon.com). PADI is Professional Association of Diving Instructors, where many (like me) got their SCUBA training. Beautiful watch, too.
My father's Seiko 6106-8100 on Olongapo bracelet. This is what amounts to an heirloom, bought during my parent's honeymoon in HK. Found it in a drawer with the bezel nowhere to be found.
