·Back when I was getting into watches and explored vintage Seikos, I noticed some of them had these lovely stars with varying pointed edges. Came to learn of the differences between Special Dials (SD) , Applique dials (AD) and Extra dials (ED).

Here's just a humble trio of Special Dials I've collected over the past 3 years. I still wince when 3 years back I was offered a Grand Seiko First 3180 for half the price of what they go for now and decided to give it a miss because I didn't think gold watches suited me. Ah, the folly of youth.
