Original Vintage Seiko 7002-7039 200m Sport Diver, “Fourth Diver” 1995 $395 All original example of 7002-7039 Diver, the transitional watch between the 6309 Turtle which ended in 1988, and the SKX line in 1997. The 7002 was another workhorse toolwatch movement with improvements from the 6309. It is in used but very good overall condition, and was purchased from Hub City Vintage (Seth Roberts) in 2019 after a full service. It is all original and running great. Dial: Matte black dial, excellent condition with rectangular hour markers and opposing triangular marker at 12. The lume used was promethium which ages to a silver green patina typical for this reference, All text is clear and correct, with new rating of 200m in red. Dial markings are correct. Date window at 3:00 is silver blends in well with small lume marker. Hands: Original polished steel hands with intact original lume. The lume used on the hands is a different than promethium on plots, and tends to appear more white/green in sunlight, typical for this reference. All original. Movement: 17J 7002-7039 movement serviced in 2019 by HCV, keeping good vintage time, all functions working as they should. Quickset working. Beats at 21,600 bph, winds auto only, no hacking. I have not opened watch as it was serviced and do not want to compromise water resistance. Case: 42 mm diameter, 44.5 lug to lug, thickness 13 mm, lug width 22 mm. Unpolished stainless steel case in very good condition, little wear from use. Original bevels and finishes present. Cade caseback screws down tightly, no evidence of polishing. No tool marks noted. Text and Tsunami logo intact. Serial number: 572826 indicating delivery date July 1995. Bezel: Different from 6309, Rotates unidirectionally with smooth spring mechanism as it should. Only slight superficial wear. All original. Crown: Located 4:00 with crown guard case, Original, in good condition, Screws down tightly as it should. Service history: Watch was serviced by HCV in 2019 before I bought it. Has worked well since. No detailed service records. No pressure test results provided has not been near water and I would not recommend swimming or diving with it unless you get a pressure test. Case has not been opened to preserve water resistance. Bracelet: Replaced rubber Seiko DALOBP rubber, good. Crystal: Replaced mineral glass, no visible scratches or marks in good condition.
