I was wondering because $1200.00 is way below what I saw them going for? Best I’ve seen is CAD $2150.00 or so. Or about USD $1600.00
Then I guess my comment still stands lol. That is a great price! 😀

Yeah, it's more than I want... but it's sort of like you can choose: do you want a decent copy of the OG watch, or do you want a new one with warranty that can hop in the pool with you?

This isn't a new release per se, but apparently Macy's is having quite the sale on Seiko watches (and other brands) for Black Friday here in the US.

https://www.macys.com/shop/jewelry-watches/all-watches/Brand,Special_offers/Seiko,Black Friday Special?id=239616 is a link that should show you all the Seiko offerings that have reduced prices....

Oh man, I'm trying to save up for a nice watch... but the prices on those gmts and speedtimers are very tempting...

Agreed but I’ll stand by it’s an understated piece to travel with, that will get the nod from any watch snob whose opinion you care about
Mechanical speedtimers:

$2500

That’s a lot of watch at that price.

A new release of the speed timer for anyone that's missed it. The "Speedometer" apparently, or SSC937P1 if you're being exact. Quite taken with this. Very tempting for 650 squid.

Don’t forget you will also need the matching car

These are fun! I just wish they'd update the movements to give you a 12-hour totalizer instead of the 24-hour AM/PM subdials. These are so close to being a great design for me, but I like counting up higher than 60 minutes.

Fratello did an end-of-year recap of Seiko's new releases:

https://www.fratellowatches.com/a-condensed-guide-to-seiko-watches-released-in-2023/

I think my favorite new watch ended up being the SRPK17 Seiko 5 reissue.

Damn seiko pumps up the watches. I almost got that KS with the funky dial but the brown kinda wasn’t my thing. I don’t mind picking up a new seiko on occasion as the vintage ones become a minefield. I was actually making a deal with someone local for a vintage bullhead I went over his house he had a bag of five dials and was “almost done putting it together”. Tbh it still looked nice but he was asking true vintage prices.

I’m not a big fan of the current X on the dial I really don’t know why just doesn’t “do it” for me despite having two.
Bottom line, Seiko, it’s a good thing.

Dang, that's a shame about the bullhead. Those are cool, but I've steered clear for now for similar reasons.

The red King Seiko you got looks great. I think they sort of nailed the design and proportion on those models.

I agree about the "X". Daini and Suwa logos are much cooler.

Overall, I still like collecting other brands, but Seiko's, old and new, have been a lot of fun for me this year. I'm currently saving up for a Willard or maybe a 62mas if I can find an affordable one in decent shape.

That’s a lot of new watches! I think my favorite is that 62mas inspired piece. That’s the one I would buy.

Wow, that was awesome to see them all in one place. So many good options to choose from. The SRQ049 Speedtimer is perhaps my favorite.

Yeah, they're doing the Lord's work organizing all that info. I like seeing all the region-specific releases, like this little Year of the Dragon 5KX:

And this one really tempted me this year:

And the SJE093 just looks awesome:

I really like the SPB441. Just one of those watches where they seem to have gotten everything right, from the size to the dial, script, or even that strap.

I wish the 5 and 7 weren't cut off, that's my only slight reservation with this one.
