Original Vintage Seiko 6309-7049 150m Sport Diver, “Turtle” 1981
This iconic Seiko Diver from May 1981 is a solid example of the rugged Turtle Diver. I have two and keeping 1 for the collection and putting this nice one back into circulation. It is in used but very good overall condition, and was purchased from Hub City Vintage (Seth Roberts) in 2019 after a full service. It is all original, other than replaced crystal and running great. A chance to buy an original piece serviced by a top Seiko watchmaker/dealer.
Dial: Matte black dial, clean with nice khaki patina on the lume plots. All text is clear and correct. Day date window at 3:00 is bevelled and correct. Suwa logo above 6:00 marker.
Hands: Original polished flat steel hands with intact original lume. Slight oxidation near the sweep tail. All original.
Movement: Clean 17J 6309 movement serviced in 2019 by HCV, keeping good vintage time, all functions working as they should. Quickset working.
Case: Unpolished stainless steel case in very good condition, some wear from use. Cade caseback screws down tightly, no evidence of polishing. Some tool marks as seen on photo. Text and Tsunami logo intact.
Serial number: 150271 indicating delivery date May 1981.
Bezel: Rotates both ways with firm click as it should. Some marks on insert from use. All original.
Crown: Original, in good condition, Screws down tightly as it should.
Service history: Watch was serviced by HCV in 2019 before I bought it. Has worked well since. No detailed service records. No pressure test results provided has not been near water and I would not recommend swimming or diving with it unless you get a pressure test. (Last photo is from the purchase from HCV Vintage 2019 can see by bezel marks it is the same watch)
Bracelet: Uncle Seiko GL831 AM rubber, very true to original bracelet from Seiko, good.
Crystal: Replaced mineral glass, no visible scratches or marks in good condition.
Accesories: Watch and strap only, no papers or box
Asking Price: USD $800 net to me, OBRO REDUCED
