Many thanks guys. I've tried all of these on and tend to lean towards the new option as well; I'm thinking I'll almost certainly go with the Pro after a good friend let me take his for a 'test drive' today. Will likely have to drive a bit, only AD in my city tends to be...well, to put it frankly, the lack of selection and knowledgeable reps there is the first thing to make me miss living in Los Angeles. I like the shop in Jacksonville however, and will probably head down there in another month or two.

I started with a birth year ('69) Speedmaster. It was my first vintage watch and I benefited enormously from the support of forums like this in choosing a good one. It is a keeper. I've had a couple of other vintage pieces that have been moved on (mistake) but I've given a really nice 1984 Speedmaster Reduced to my son who loves it. It looks good on his more slender wrist. I'm lucky enough to have got one of the 50th anniversary pieces with the other to come shortly. You really can't go wrong with a Speedmaster whatever you choose. They are fantastic watches.

de gustibus non est disputandum...
But at today's 'metal-magic' prices reaching towards the asking prices for a decent late 1960s Moonwatch with 321 movement, no wonder aficionados go for the real 321... if You can spend $ 7500.00 on a Speedmaster
IMHO Omega finally learned this and entitled the next SpeedyTuesday event... Back to Base... ( Base more than probably meaning 321 )

Why not just buy one from someone like Kringkily who I linked you to on the previous page, or another well trusted seller known on these forums? I don't have any skin in the game whatsoever and I'm not associated with any of them, I just don't understand paying hundreds more than you have to when you can get a brand new genuine watch with the full factory warranty from someone besides an AD or OB. But whatever, cool that you've made up your mind for the Pro, it's a great watch.
