Seeking information/advice about my grandfather's watch

Hello,

After my grandfather's death I was entrusted his Omega Seamaster Deville watch. I was a child and it has been in some random boxes for several decades now. I just found it today and realized how cool it actually is, but I cannot find pictures or information on this specific dial.

The watch is still working, but I cannot get the date to change properly. It clearly needs some TLC and a proper tune-up. I am in Southern CA, if that matters. I am wondering where I should go to have it worked on. I am also curious if anyone can help me figure out the name for the dial color. There is no serial number, but it is 14kgf according to the band. Thanks!

It’s a Seamaster De Ville, likely gold filled US cased, Cal 56x which is a nice movement. Bracelet is definitely not original to the watch.

The dial has been refinished at some point in the past in a really unusual way, it might have been one of the Seamaster De Ville “special dials” originally but then refinished.

A lot of info on them is here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/ultimate-omega-seamaster-de-ville-guide-refs-history.159035/

Take the band off. These things destroy the plating on the lugs.

Will probably say if gold filled between the lugs

Pull out crown and turn hands 24 hours to see if date changes. If not. Probably worn teeth on the date ring.

Just responded to another with this link. As mentioned to him. Check credentials/certificates to avoid battery changers
