Please chime in about this interesting speedmaster from eBay Japan if there is any issue. Looks legit to me on my limited knowledge. Probably cal 3301. No bidding but BIN only. I purchased a few items from this seller. No past issue other than import duty to add up to the total cost. I have yet to decide to pull the trigger for $3880 + California state tax + import duty.

to begin with, i guess you are comfortable with the seller in japan having had a transaction with him in the past. i dont know if you are particularly looking for a speedmaster because the one above is not in its class but an automatic (probably cal7750, not mention in the description) with smaller case. but honestly it is a nice looking piece specially at an attractive price. 😉

Yes, I wonder if this particular reference is closer cousin to the ‘speedmaster reduced’ family. Must be a quite distant family from the speedmaster ancestors, with just the enablemem and perhaps similar asymmetric case? It said 40mm, not 42. But it is conflicting from what is stated on the omega website. One of them could be wrong.

Not enough high quality photos in the post. When I don't see good photos I always get suspicious of what detail I could be missing. The dial, bezel, and crystal look good. The polishing on the bracelet doesn't look like the satin like finish I would expect. But this could be from the photos. The description is incorrect it's a 42mm watch not 40mm so that never makes me feel happy when I see the watch isn't described accurately. I don't see any boxes, books, or papers, and I don't know how many links should be in this bracelet for the full compliment of links. Not sure if that's a dent in the case above the start pusher, Obviously this is not bad considering it's age.

I didn’t notice beforehand, but now can see that dent you pointed out, in two different photos.

That particular eBay seller listed thousands of watches at the same time. He really does know the watch when asked, maybe not in his possession. I wonder how the reasonable valuation came up from the sell side or how their business model is ? Perhaps just the quantative / volume game.

Thank for the help

The seller of this watch is a seller who has the item in stock, which is rare among Japanese sellers who list a large number of items on eBay.

I have seen mistakes in this seller's product descriptions in the past.
I asked seller about the mistake and he fixed it with the correct description.
Seller has a large number of items for sale, so I'm sure he makes mistakes from time to time.

I don't have any advice on watches. Sorry ....

Would you be able to return the watch if there's additional damage that cannot be seen from the photos? I've purchased a few watches from Japan before and find the sellers to generally be very reputable and detailed in their condition summaries.

Still cheaper than having to keep a watch you don't really want or can't get your money back on. Just a thought anyway.
