As I posted in a previous post 5 weeks ago, I purchased a 145.022-69 Speedmaster from a friend and sent it to my watchmaker for a full service.
Since I will be wearing the watch, I am having the hands and crystal replaced.
I am leaving the dial as is but the luminova seems to have some black spots instead of the nice creamy patina on most vintage speedmasters.

My question: Will the black spots on the lume detract from the value of the watch?
Also, is there something I should do to try and lightly clean off the black spots?

As of right now I am not doing anything to the dial.

I would leave the dial untouched... looks perfectly fine to me (matches the overall watch look). The black spots on the lume is normal. I have it on mine too.

Also make sure to keep the original hands. You can have the new hands relumed to match the dial?

    Cheers!

Thx, that's what I figured but I wanted to make sure. Yes I will be keeping the original hands.

That's a good looking watch, nice DO90 bezel too!

I would say don't stress it. Just focus on wearing and enjoying it.
