This is a new to me watch. When I received it I sent it straight to my local watchmaker for a service. He found nothing wrong with the bezel mechanism other than it was very dirty. This is post service. Is this normal for this model?

Nope! I have mine on my wrist as I write this, and it’s as solid as a rock!

I’d fear that would fall off after a slight tap on a door.

No play on mine.

The bezel should have come with a new spring, maybe he didn't use it? The other alternative is that the case is severely worn.

That's too much play for sure.

Mine is tight as well...not a recent service either, and a daily wear watch for me...

I know its silly to ask people without them seeing the problem in person, but what are some of the most common possibilities? Am I looking at getting a new bezel or could it be more like a worn spring?

Bezel, spring, or case. Only parts involved.

Which is something you ask the watchmaker about, not some bunch of goofballs on a web forum!

There are two springs. One is the bezel spring that holds the bezel on the watch. The other is the click spring...usually loose bezels are a result of a damaged click spring.
