As far as I can see, everything but the minute totalizer (Orange airplane) and the white tachy bezel is original. Nice watch with desirable hands!

Interested in pics of the tachy ring you received. By tachy crystal, do you mean a crystal with tachy ring on it like the mark Speedy? Because afaik that would be for a different watch.

Here you go, one of the watch with clearer details.

This is the bezel insert, it looks black but in the right light it's a deep navy blue gloss, I may try another pic in different light.

And this is the integrated crystal bezel, the blue is slightly lighter and greyer than the insert

Lol, I missed that earlier. Did I say ridiculous? I meant "unique red subregister hour hand straight off a 176.001 prototype" 馃槦

Ah, who am I kidding. This watch is never going anywhere anyway 馃槈

Still, I wonder where it came from. No other configurations seem to have red hands - even the yachting or soccer timers. Does it look repainted to you? If so, why on earth would someone do this?
It doesn't look repainted to me. If it was supplied by Omega, nobody could argue it was not the same as the prototype. 馃槈 More likely it's a Lemania thingy.

No box, no papers, no documented service history, no 1170 bracelet or end links, severely corroded dial, caseback engraving nearly eroded, replacement rotor, non-original crown, and I'm pretty sure at least one of the pushers is incorrect.

Still, I want that syringe-style minute hand so bad! 馃檮

Ha! 馃榾 While I sometimes see white syringe minute hands, I certainly don't recall seeing too many black ones. Are you going for it?!

Speaking of rarely-seen parts on the 176.007, I've requested/ordered a white pulsometric bezel for mine. Fingers crossed they can supply it...

Well, sometimes the heart wants what it wants, right? The syringe hands look good on these. Here's mine on a recently-acquired 176.001:

The lume has a leopard-print thing going on...

Great stuff, Andy! Is that an original corfam strap you've got going on there too? 馃榾

I think you recommended that to me before? Or was it someone else?
It looks great! 馃榾
Thanks, I need to order a couple more. I wear this one on my 001, 007, and 010s. It would be nice to switch watches without switch straps. Of course sometimes I do wear them on the bracelets...

Dunno yet. I pondered swapping my service hands for these, having it checked and serviced by someone reputable, slapping on a NOS dial and crown, and reselling it. I wouldn't need to make money on the deal, but I'd like at least to break even. At the current asking price of $2000, that is out of the question.

Can't wait to see yours with the pulsometric scale!

Ooh, nice! I've been looking for 176.001's but few come up for sale. Might I ask where you found this beauty? Thanks for the tip on the corfam straps by the way. Ordering one as we speak!

The replica corfam should be a requirement for any owner of a 70s chrono! I initially saw this one on chrono24 but reached out directly to the seller.

I agree, but the (actual) NOS 1170 on my 007 isn't going anywhere - if only because it took me the better part of an evening to fit it 馃槨

I'm gonna put the corfam on my 145.024 Flat Jedi - should look awesome on that, too. Anyone know what a period correct Omega buckle would look like?

Love the look of the corfam on the Flat Jedi in that catalog shot, dialstatic! I've been thinking of strap options for mine (only been using a 1171 or OEM mesh), but that black corfam looks like I've found what I've been looking for. Thanks for the buckle info, too Andy.

Back to the 176.007: I'm not sure if I've posted this before or not, but just before I sent mine away for service, I picked up blue NOS Omega rubber for it. It's very dark blue - looks almost black - but I like it. Here are a few shots:

Must. Get. Syringe. Minute. Hand.

馃榾
You can always borrow one from your Megaquartz! 馃槣
Just teasing. There was a set for sale recently on eBay, but it had no lume and was bent. I think patiently checking eBay you will eventually find one.

You're absolutely right, of course, Andy...

I blame it on the autoconnect.
