Op, sorry if I’m not right but I also have some doubts about your motives, something curious is going on here. I recognise the watch on your profile photo and the watch that you are asking for and both are for sale on the same website (I can publish links if needed).
So three options here :
- you bought the watch on your profile picture recently : everything fine and I’m just being paranoid (but this would be surprising as the watch is still for sale).
- you are selling the watch on your profile photo : very odd as the person that I contacted presented herself as a « lady » who doesn’t know nothing about watches which apparently you are not
- you are selling both watches (the one on your profile picture and the « franken » one) using two different profiles and pretending to be a woman unfamiliar with watches and not wanting to provide mechanism and caseback photos to buyers that are asking you.
Could you explain? I’m curious to know.
I can also elaborate options...
You are from the same country as I am... that is easy.
When you were looking after a Seamaster for your daddy’s birthday, you end up on that website and contacted the lady that had the watch depicted on my profile for sale…
I don’t know if you talked to her or text her, but it’s clear that you have requested photos that she didn’t wanted or had not the possibility to provide you with (it’s on her right, you know?)…
Most probably, you have also tried for the other Seamaster from this thread…
Being a forum member, you obviously wanted to know more about these watches for sale, as you did on the query for your daddy, posting photos, requesting advice… did anyone questioned your motives?...
And then, by hazard you stumbled across this thread, and as a great detective and of the utmost candour, you come here and question other’s motives… if you cared to read the post before yours, you should have realised what these were…
Nonetheless... if I was the seller and didn't wanted to provide mechanism and caseback photos to buyers, what should be the reason for doing it here along with the other photos, and questioning about being genuine or not? I should know all about in the first place...
Son, not that I have to explain anything to you or anyone else, I might be older than your father, so aged enough to be responsible, serious and not pretending to be any old lady selling watches here or elsewhere.
Photos from the internet are freeware and I used that one as an avatar, just because I've liked that photo. I could use any other for avatar, as you did choosing a gif.
People are free to keep or remove watches on sites, regardless if they sell or not, it’s on their freewill.
If you wanted to know if I have bought it or not, you will end up wondering…
You might want to sniff other stuff, maybe it will help you to be wiser on your judgements.

There's a recess at the side of the caseback to accomodate the crown. Whoever installed it obviously didn't notice that as it is, the crown will be harder to access and somewhere between the lugs it'll look like there's a part of the caseback missing. 🤦

Now that I read your answer I think that you were selling both of them. First, someone that didn’t do anything wrong wouldn’t answer in an defensive manner like you did, wouldn’t go check my profile to try discrediting my « presumptions ». Secondly your explanation about finding the exact same picture of a watch for sale (on a small local website) on google and put it as a profile image because « you like it » is quite ridiculous, sorry. I don’t know what you did or what you didn’t do but what at can say is that I don’t trust what you are saying. And about what you just said to @padders, please stay correct, no one is insulting you, respect is one of the main rules on this forum.
When I read this I instantly hit “LIKE” due to being completely misjudged earlier this evening by someone on here who doesn’t know me. Thing is, if I hit “LIKE” then this person would have a valid reason to misjudge me, a stranger.
Forums can be fantastic places but they can also attract arseholes. Fortunately there are none on here 😉
Normally i would not grace you with an answer for your drivel. The moment, you answer somebody you do not know, with a degrading " Son ", it`s over. I`m definitely older than you and seen a lot , but never retorted with this kind of degrading posts. Karma will do the rest to you . Sometimes Karma is a bit slow, but it works. Always. Achim, without the " kind regards " .
Thanks for your advice.
The seller is from my country, albeit 500km away from my location, reason why I can rely only on the fotos and info I've requested, which I'm pasting here. Waiting for the serial number now.[/QUOTE.
And ? Did the serial number check out?
