Obviously, there are cheaper options that you can purchase from department stores.

Name one? Genuinely curious. I doubt there's a US department store outside of perhaps NY, LA, Houston? who even sell mechanical watches.

Someone on Ebay is selling these. They are made for the 1861 and not sure how they would fit on a new speedmaster. There are a couple of areas (circled) which still expose some of the watch. The creator told me it was to accommodate the tight fit of the bracelet .

This is super creative !!! I guess necessary given the strap monster that the Speedy is!

I'm not sure which Bergeon model is best for Omega, but I own Bergeon tools and recommend their quality.

The Bergeon spring bar tool is like $20 USD. These are $5,000+ timepieces. Doesn't really seem like saving $10 to buy a cheaper tool is really worth it. Read the reviews on the cheapo springbar tools, I wouldn't use them on a watch worth a few hundred....much less a watch worth a few thousand.

I'd take jkbenn02's comment with a pinch of salt, he was just post farming it seems.

I’d love to hear what archer has to say? Following this thread as I’d like to get some tools for strap removal.

Coming late to this... I posted about my choice of tools here:

Works great for me. There's a high likelihood of scratching first few times, but if you have an old beater to practice on, I've found I've since been able to go in and pretty consistently remove/insert with surprising ease. Works like a charm with Rolex and those narrow cut-outs. Good lighting is key for me, and also precisely setting the width to just a hair wider than where they'll go in to pinch the springbars. Go slow and steady and you might be surprised how good you can get at this.

A Bergeon 6767-F is all I've used for years with no issues. I normally don't wear steel bracelets but I just reinstalled one on a Speedmaster today and it was a simple affair. I used two small pieces of electrical tape on the back of the lugs "just in case" but didn't really need them. The ones that Omega includes look to be of pretty good quality but I've never used one.
