Hey if the price is right I can play Liberace for a day while I look for a buyer 😁
I would enjoy see you stroll through the NYC markets as Liberace

Oh you can't imagine the freaks roaming around browsing in the Chelsea markets. I'm sure there are a few here that have seen them as well. There is one particular old guy that I remember from like 15 years ago who would browse and buy jewelry all afternoon both outside at the flea market as well as inside the high end antique building. This past Saturday there he was as usual, dressed in drag...colorful leotards, fruity looking top and big Elton John glasses. There was another much older guy, like 70+ who would be there every weekend slathered in makeup and wearing a black gown. Haven't seen him yet this year. 😁

Seems a bit of a shame to be buying a heirloom off an old lady, to be just flipping it for profit...

you should be willing to do your own research if it’s purely for a personal profit benefit.
I’m not in the wrong I don’t think I mean she texted me the price she would take. Shes been on eBay selling stuff since 1999 so she has access to people trying to buy her stuff. It’s not a heirloom to her i don’t think I’ve known this lady for a little while Now and it seems she was really disappointed at her husband dying R.I.P. an leaving her with 60ish watches to deal with. I didn’t try to talk her down or anything and I didn’t mean to sound like a prick by saying that I’d sell the watch but honestly I would try to trade it in for a different 2 tone GMT cause though it’s “nice” it just Isn’t the watch for me.

If you already did a deal with her and you know her personally. just pay a portion and get it checked out first.

Old ladies mark their heirlooms with numbered hang-tags 😕 Interesting ...

Not uncommon 😉 I guess it wasnt her watch, but the watch of her husband. I also got watches from the daughter of a collector with hangtags and numbers. I guess there is a matching sheet of paper somewhere, describing the watches. Stuff wie do today with pics and excel sheets (or other Software). For me thats just a sign of a classic collector 😉

It's a Mark 1 matte dial GMT with a service bezel and a polished but fairly nice case (might be Bexley bevel). The tell, from what can been seen on the dial, is the 'stringy' crown ( https://gmtmaster1675.com/mark-1/ ). The hard thing to see is if its been relumed or if the hands are replacements. The lume is pretty domed, which would be correct if it's and early Mark 1 with a serial <1.9m, but its a bit lumpy so I'm skeptical.

Impressive that you can identify it without seeing the "E", which is always the first thing I look at. When I saw that was obscured, I didn't even look any closer. 👍

I agree on question on lume. It looks like it could’ve been a puffy dial that got a little smashed, on the other hand 9 o’clock looks funky.

However, this lady also had gold daytonas. If I was a betting man, I’d say they were old. Can’t wait to hear the rest of that story...

Well, here are some more photos I finally received right now. The bracelet seems like it could be aftermarket? I don’t see any numbered end links.

It's a C&I USA-made Rolex bracelet IMO. They have integrated end-links without numbers, and they don't really fit very well unless you put a lot of work into tweaking them. The clasp should be signed C&I, but the photos don't show that part of the clasp. It's the least desirable type of bracelet, but legit, and possibly original.
