Hello everyone I’m looking to get some advice on a white gold 36mm day-date I have a opportunity to buy one at a competitive price. I was wondering though did Rolex make factory diamond dial, bezel and lugged day-dates?

Here are some photos from the seller. Thanks

I would suggest researching the president diamond dials and lug styles to make sure this isn't added on later. One thing to watch out for on older white gold presidents is replacement yellow bracelets plated with white gold. That sort of thing was big in the Philippines and HK. You also need to love diamond festooned watches because they can be limited in demand.

Thanks janice&fred I just got photos from the seller of the actual watch it doesn’t look like it’s been replaced but I will definitely be looking for more info online.

My spidey sense screams HK on the diamond treatments but if that price tag is right I would snap that thing up asap. You can make a couple grand on it if you get tired of it.

It's an older non quick model with stepped dial but looks like the bracelet is reasonably tight. Grab it at $7500. .

Lol I plan to tomorrow this lady’s husband just died he has about 36 watches which 18 are Rolex 2500$ for a two tone turnogragh date just and 3000$ for a 14kt gold Datejust from the 70s. She’s got Daytona’s and princes all kinds of models her husband picked up in Europe super excited.

Haha thanks Fred. I’ll post some pics of the other watches she’s got if anyone wants to see them. Dibs on the turn o graph already but everything else I’m going to help her sell and get the word out to the right people. She is also going to go to eBay with some of them so if you want keep a eye out there.

These days it's pretty easy to research prices online, and she probably knows the value of these Rolex models, especially if her husband had a large collection. So if the prices seem too good to be true, I would be very careful. You are looking at watches from the collection of someone who didn't mind aftermarket parts.

True, well I’ll be posting photos here tomorrow of the day-date and the other ones she has. she went to a jeweler in Palm Springs which I know personally an Got estimates and paperwork for them all an had them serviced before doing anything with them so she knows the prices of them all but wants them gone fast. that’s why her prices are super low. I could sense she is overwhelmed and feed up with dealing with them.

Well I finally got the watch about a hour ago. She didn’t bring any watches with her this time but she’s sending photos to me of what she has left. A very lucky basterd came and swooped in an got the turn o graph. One of the watches I know off the top of my head is a Rolex oyster perpetual all solid 14kt gold case and bracelet from 1951 cal. 645 ref. 6085

The ones to get are the GMT and the Oysterquartz Datejust, the rest looks like headache to me. Aftermarket parts, unwanted brands, hard to move on pieces.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking just posting them all to help her out. both the oysterquartz are nice in my opinion same with the gmt. And you can’t beat the prices on them. All of them have been serviced as well. she has all paperwork from the watchmaker on what was done.

Looks like the GMT and a few of the other Rolexes along with their bracelets lost a fight with a buffing wheel. Would have been nice to have gotten ahold of them before they went for the service and polishing. Anyways if the price is tasty they will pop quick.
