·After a 2.5 year absence, Rolex is back in my collection. I just picked up a ref. 16520 white dial Daytona.
The 2016 release of the Daytona C really caught my attention. Unsurprisingly, I wasn’t able to buy a new one. I put my name on an AD list and started putting money aside for the purchase. Two years later, the AD told me that I would probably never make it to the top of the list. I had enough saved up to buy grey market and started looking for a watch.
The white dial Daytona C had really put a spell on me, but looking back, I realized the element of strongest attraction was the look of the black subdial rings against the white dial. As such, I expanded my search to include the 16520.
I eventually chose the older watch. The El Primero based caliber 4030 was especially interesting to me and tipped the decision.
