·Mike Love wasn't the first singer, actor, sportsman or entertainer to go on a rant thinking they have some sort of wisdom or knowledge that the rube public needs to hear to be enlightened. Why @Walrus felt those comments 35+ years ago needed to be brought up on Wilson's passing is odd. Lighten up, bro, enjoy the music. You can hate Love if you want, but what's the purpose?

·I think the vast majority of BW fans will reminisce about Mike Love’s treatment of Brian. For those who don’t know, Mike took Brian to court over the use of the name The Beach Boys.
Incredible as it sounds, Brian wasn’t permitted to use the band name for his group/ touring as MK has the sole licensing rights for the name.
Incidentally, MK similarly sued Al Jardine for using variants of the name for his touring band and won. This is one example of the many litigations by MK against Brian.
Maybe we should leave the last word on this with Brian (below)…

Enough on that though. I just don’t like how he continued to attack Brian for the next 30-40 years or whatever and steal any credit he could
