Restoring an Old Smiths

Is this Smiths worth restoring guys, bought for me in the early 50’s, in later years it had a hard life on my carpenters dad arm and got sun tanned , it’s got a bit of sentimental value or it is and put it away in a draw job.

Could do with a couple more pics to determine condition but I’d get that cleaned and serviced ready to wear again

Well worth a sympathetic service and a new crystal.
Any shots inside showing the ticky bits?

The real question. Are you going to wear it?

Crystal is cheap. Its the cleaning and servicing thats going to be about $200 or so depending on who does it and if parts needed

as you say even if I put a new glass in that would make it look real good.....how are you placed Jim?

Is it safe to assume that you are in Australia? I don't think that is a SmithS case per se. But if you are in Australia it is quite likely it was imported sans case and cased up when there. Is it a Handley case? I think I remember seeing SmithS in Handley cases before.

The dial design, with that style of smaller central sunken sub dial would be late 1940's to early 1950's.
