Just to keep it simple. It's your watch, sell it or don't sell it to who ever you damn well please. If they don't like it so what. That's their damn problem. 馃榾

Par for the course at WuS.
Hope I'm not tempting providence, but what's the beef with WUS? I've not noticed anything basically wrong with it - maybe I'm missing something?

Oh heck no. Just the payment and shipping demands are squirrelly enough to peel off.

However, I recently sold to a low post count guy but I asked for references and he was well established on his favorite brand forum. I didn't flinch at checking him out though. If they're legit, buyer won't flinch at you checking them out either.

Paypal isn't the be-all & end-all of security for either party.

I use them frequently for my small business, also in conjunction with eBay. Not so long ago I had a customer dispute an item. I went to eBay & they ruled in my favour. He then went to Paypal and they gave him his money back, without investigating anything with me. Fortunately it was a moderately low value item, but still, I was pretty annoyed.

Even a bank transfer isn't cast-iron, if the buyer uses a credit card to back the transfer and then complains to their card company and asks for a reversal - I've not experienced this one first hand, but buying things for work from overseas suppliers all the time, I could see how it might be possible.

As mentioned previously, post count and content gives an insight into behaviour.

I can see no reason for any honest person to refuse to supply references and personal info, particularly if a reciprocal offer is made.

These types of things can overcome newbie low-posts- I've checked up on peoples tranasaction on antique fountain pens and hotted up car parts.

If you are now saying the person is being abusive, that's a degree of harassment above and beyond what was described earlier and can't be attributed to culture or language differences

As has been stated by many - its your prerogative who yu wish to deal with.

Just realized I'm low post guy on this forum because I just loaded up my collection with two nice Omegas! However, I've been member since 2014, which in my view is even more important (along with my dozens of transactions, 1,000+ posts, and perfect feedback on WUS). Reason being, someone can rack up a bunch of posts quickly on WRUW thread, something like that, but they CANNOT change their join date.

I've sold a few to nice gentlemen with few posts that joined the forum (whichever one) years and years ago. That is reasonable risk IMO because there are a lot of watch enthusiasts who are perfect gentlemen but just aren't comfortable posting. They enjoy reading posts and article on forums, researching, etc. Again, you can't make your start date retroactive to 2009 or something like that, so that is good measure of seriousness too..

Courtesy does not cost anything. That said sometimes cultural differences and communicating in a non native language may come across as rude.
But the bottom line is very simple. Its your watch and you decide who you want to deal with. If you don't feel comfortable with dealing with this fella tell him you won't deal with him. He should understand and I am sure will find another watch just as you will find another buyer.

Best of luck with the sale.

Well someone has to make the sale to the no sales history people or they never get a buying history.
I took the soup nazi approach as best I could. Make my offer and slide over briskly to pay Simply bad business to make a seller more nervous.

Asking to ship to a location other than billing address is quite simply an automatic alarm bell one should be ready to explain and go in knowing some sellers just won't accept that.

As for America. Just remember the intolerable conditions my ancestors lived under that caused them to fight for independence were the same conditions the Canadians lived under and found acceptable. So we may not always be agreeable company.
