A premium? I don't get why. It's just another late 80's / early 90's SMP. If you mean it will be more expensive than a battery powered version you would be correct, but this isn't exactly a rare or highly sought after watch. The 80's into the 90's was the low point of Omega's history.

It's NOS and clearly pristine so it deserves to sell above the standard $800 to $900 the autos seem to go for and should command near 2 grand (I see it's passed $1500 this afternoon). I would gladly pay well above even that had I not just bought the quartz version. Is it comparable to modern Seamasters? No, of course not. But true NOS Omega pre-Bonds are quite rare so this is special.

Remember, This thread is not for watches you like, but for watches that you absolutely recommend that someone here should purchase. The first one on your list is of dubious condition with a seller which many have received watches in poor condition from him.

Ups, I apologise. But the seller has 100% feedback and I didn't know that.
It's true, the dial is not in great condition but I still like it. Anyway, I'll be more careful...
Cheers!

I believe for these later cal. 751's those rules do not apply. These are from the early/mid seventies and some of the stainless steel cased 751's even have the bricked observatories.

Here's a question: Should the observatory on the caseback have lines on it?

I wouldn't have put it on this thread if it wasn't in great shape - this case looks like it hasn't been polished since by this time omega switched from bricks to poured concrete. 😉

Great reply. But see now my question was poorly worded. Really, the concern was whether the observatory should be bricked

Awesome! Thanks!

This looks like a nice 1950s Seamaster Chronometre, poor pictures and no movement shots, but these can turn out to be the best😉

UK only but I think it could well be worth a quick mail or a long drive.

Thanks for the info.. Is the 561 number stamped and visible on the movement?
yes, 561 is the number visible on the movement under the omega symbol.

As for the redial, the circular brushing on the dia is wrong, the swiss made seems quite high, the facets of the pie pan seem too dull. we could be wrong, but would want better photos, where the hands aren't (deliberately) placed to obscure the text
