A nice entry level watch. Can't understand why these 168.016 cases aren't as popular as the C-case versions.
Project but worth watching for the dial: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171182455754Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
This one is a bit of a project. All correct, including the crown. But it needs some TLC. If you can get it under $2K, you'll have done very well... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Ome...h-/400616987488?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I think the dial is gold on this one. Sonny Dewan, where are you? gatorcpa
Another one from the same seller, this one in steel with box and papers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Superior-Co...-Papers-/400616936083?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Probably a Ref. 2852, since it is a snapback and has the "Constellation" engraved on the back. It needs some cosmetic work on the dial and a movement service, but the case is sharp. If the price isn't crazy, the buyer will do well. gatorcpa
If it is a gold dial, I am highly doubt it will fetch below $2K. Probably more at $2.5-3K range. Then if it is really gold dial, a simple water with splash of windex and very careful fine brushing might clean up the dial nice.
Very sharp Sparkle from a good guy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ome...219219911?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item4179f8c1c7Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Sorry, yes, I liked the gold sparkle. I have to start somewhere! ("dibs" is just for fun, isn't it? )
No, it means either you wish to buy a members watch if he should sell it in the future, or you intend to attempt purchase of a watch listed for sale and you are asking others not compete. There is no nothing to hold you to the dibs, but it is not an idle joke.
I wish we could get Spencer to participate here, but I think he is busy with University or something.
Thanks. I have bid on it although I'm not currently the high bidder. I'll probably give it my best shot at the last minute but I don't expect to win. I do NOT expect anyone here to stay away. If I don't win I'll move on to the next one without regret.

The capping is usually over 200 microns, but I think those are gold plated so it's somewhere between 20 and 40 microns.
I assumed it was plate from the appearance, but the listing seems sure it is cap. Either way, it's darn purty sparkly!
I thought they were cap, we've seen a few that have been polished a lot with no wear-through which is usually only cap
