🙁 i feel like 90% of the auctioned watches are located in the US....
I just asked Ebay for Omega Constellation:
  • only in the EU: 1.100 hits,
  • wolrldwide: 6400 hits
  • pie pan only 118 worldwide
Ok, there are many Manhattans, we mostly do not collect.

I get the reverse feeling. All the good deals/things of interest/etc are in Europe! The US stuff always seems to go for top dollar, EU stuff seems to languish at lower prices.

It's even worse on the private sales here, tons of awesome stuff in Europe that without the US tarrifs Id snap up.

Heck, half the stuff I order for watch repair has to come from the EU.

I think this is 'The grass is greener on the other side." effect. The same thing happens when I see something listed which is not what is in front of me.

My watch list is now around 50 to 70 items. Used to be over 100. That is a quarter to 1/3 what is not going to Canada, Europe and elsewhere. Most of what I do purchase comes from Florida, so it is being laundered through that state. What money I am saving is going to taxes, fees, and inflation.

Spent the morning looking at eBay and Shopgoodwill. All the good stuff has respectable bids on it.

Cameras and lenses on the other hand are going begging. Went through 20 pages of cameras and related on shopgoodwill for sale in the next 24 hours. Nothing with bids over 50 bucks. Film of course is only made in limited formats and quantities. Film for many of the cameras listed has not been available for 30 or 40 years.

just looked thru the last 25 pages:
only twice was the watch located in Europe (both in Italy). The rest was in the US, with a few listings from canada, new zealand, and the uk...

So my observation still seems to hold up....unfortunately.

ps: yep😀 lucky me - private sales corner is eu dominated with a lot of fυcking good deals

Not in the market for a new watch right now, but that blue dial really pops! It is quite unique and would be a great addition to just about any collection.

I’ll make a New Year’s resolution to include more for our Europeans

It is located in France 🤔😅
Ok that wasn’t a rude WW2 joke I literally was browsing the German site at the time with location filtered to Germany, their maps might be out of… date 80 years or so
