Bought quite a bit from the Philippines admittedly only from the one dealer and could not have had a better experience.

He probably was referring to the prevalent high humidity in that country possibly causing case/movement corrosion.

Is it corrosion, or merely some dirt? ::stirthepot::

I'm of buying this watch. It will be my first vintage watch. I know the size is an issue but I don't mind. Does it look look as it should? I'm certainly a newb and the things you all see inspires me to learn more. Is the price right and will it hold it's value? Thanks for any insight I might get.

It's been polished but you can still see the bevelled edges on the lugs, so I consider it ok. The dial appears to be two-tone, with some spotting due to moisture from over the years. I think it's going to look way better in the flesh than it does with the screwy white balance on those photos, it may turn out to be a nice patina. Seller says it's been serviced and citizenrich vouches for his watchmaking skills. As the seller says, there's no rubbing of the rotor against the case back and the pictures back him up - both are nice and clean.

Prices are lower in the US, and these mid-size aren't as desirable as the larger models. But I figure the watch is worth in excess of $300 easy, and the rest of the price covers the service.

Thanks for the reply Mathlar. The seller had accepted a bidders previous offer so was no longer available. Too bad, I was prepared to pay asking price. I think this will be one of those hobbies where the search will be most of the fun. Again, thanks for taking the time to school me.

Seller made a mistake not letting this one go to end.
I was going to bid also.
These days the game is you have to put in
a behind the scenes offer to stay in the game
    on all auctions

It never hurts to message the seller with an offer. Worst they can say is no. Then you still have a chance if the seller wants to let the auction run it's course.
