It’s actually a very attractive watch

NB. I’m not bidding despite thinking it’s very attractive

Really nice clean example of a Seamaster De Ville Tiffany & Co in 14k gold, this is the specific reference that is known to have unusual looking fonts, so while you’ll notice they’re nothing like other De Ville’s, this is a US market specific special dial and is entirely correct for this model. Going no reserve

I’m guessing whoever got him to end early is annoyed and probably some potential bidders messaged him to say he’d get more letting it rides ive done that when I’ve had something I really wanted to bid on.
The watch is now listed at an ebay auction for 9 days: https://www.ebay.com/itm/315245110957

This one is a really quite lovely metallic blue dial Cal 552 Geneve, one of the nicest combinations in this reference for sure, going no reserve in the UK

Missed out on this... hopefully someone from here picked it up 😀

They have been trying sell this watch for almost a year. I remember two auctions that were cancelled at the end and it’s been listed for $10K since.

It’s a rare and lovely package, but I wonder about the seriousness of the seller.

Yup and it was listed for a BIN of 12k (or somewhere around there) for a period as well. I would not be surprised if it is relisted yet again after this round of bidding.

Nice watch but, as always, factor in the cost of a service - see below from sales ad

"The watch is currently ticking for few seconds then stops. The gold colour rotating weight shows some marks on the edge meaning it might touch the case back. Unknown service history. In need of attention, might be an easy fix."

Went for £470...fair price for the UK market?

Slightly high even for the UK market but condition is good and it’s an attractive example so it’ll be a nice watch to wear after service

Including a service its circa £800. Probably a bit high even for UK but its a nice example of its type.
