This is quite nice, UK cased Ref 168.3010 Constellation Cal 564, very pretty dial and case

https://www.ebay.com/itm/204110223565

I was curious about this: could this be a French-cased watch with a solid gold case? I was comparing some of the markings on the case with the article here (http://omega-constellation-collecto...8/a-french-omega-constellation-2648-seen.html). If it is French, is it correct for the dial to read 'Swiss made'?

The watch on ebay

Note the small marking on the base of the observatory on the outside case back, that's possibly a hallmark:

The style of Omega logo inside the caseback and the diamond-shape maker's mark (?) are similar to the French example in the article linked above:

Mark on side of lug that looks like some kind of hallmarking:

For reference, the corresponding images from the linked article

Hallmark here is above the observatory logo:

Note the style of Omega logo towards the top and the little diamond-shaped mark towards the bottom:

166.155 Omega DeVille with UFO style case, 38mm so quite large, with Cal 1481 and on bracelet. Quite cheap at 250 quid with no bids. I’m writing about these atm so should have an article finished before long.

Bid along on this one, but didn't get it. It went for 320 pounds. Peculiar watch - looking forward to reading your article on the reference, dsio. Where can we find it when it's ready? Or are you publishing it in a book?

The stories section up the top left, there are a lot of articles on unusual Omegas with two new ones coming out every week Tuesday and Thursday with occasional Saturdays:

It is indeed a French-cased version of the 168.010.
the insertion of the '3' denotes a French made case and the over-large stars around the observatory are a give-away.
The eagle's head French hallmark on the base of the observatory denotes solid 18k.
I wonder if it really does have 18mm lug spacing (a Swiss .010 would be 19mm)

The dial would have been supplied by Omega and is the classic, if unusual, 'onyx and tritium lume' dial with 'pencil hands' found on the later .010s.
I don't know what the rules were about adding 'fab Suisse' to the dial but I have a gold cap version of this watch, Swiss made but bought from France, and it doesn't have it either.

Interesting that the ebay description states 'gold plated watch'
It's not in mint condition but it is still really quite nice - I'd expect it to go for something like four to five times the current price

Seamater 166.057 jumbo 36mm case on BoR with box and paper, small amount of patina on the dial but quite nice overall. All non-luminous dial and hands.

This will probably go for a fair bit. But it’s ends in 6 days so could be nicked for a bargain if it stays low until the end. Fingers crossed

Unfortunately, I suspect it will end high considering it’s in the UK and that seller has been shared within this thread often. They have developed a solid reputation for good pieces.

This seller also has this Constellation 168.033, normally I tend to steer clear of early Cal 1000 series models but the condition of the case and bracelet justify a proper service from someone with the right parts to get it running nicely.

Hi - thanks very much for this. I see the price is already at over £800, so it looks as though it's heading in the direction you predicted; too much for me, unfortunately.

That's a very cool watch to wear if you are into cocaine, and I mean the business.

Or if you are the keyboard player in a funk band.

Or if you are just into uncommon vintage Omega watches, or dials with diamonds on it in general.
