Hi everyone, What does this movement look like? Would you buy the watch? It seems to me that it was ‘manised’. And I have serious doubts about the originality of the hands. They offered it to me at €350.

Welcome. This thread is not for questions/inquiries. Please start a new thread in the vintage section specific to your watch.

Thanks for sharing. Noob question: is it common to see that DeVille is not printed on the dial?

For the early 5 digit references with coat hanger S it wasn’t unusual, it was a phase where they were still experimenting with what the DeVille was going to be so there are both Seamaster DeVille signed and Seamaster signed 14770’s but I would still consider them all to be DeVilles as its the characteristic front-loader case they became well known for.

Thanks again! Not sure if I overpaid at $640, but who cares at his point. I can’t wait to wear it.

Hi everybody!
A few questions for who might know the answer: do these watches looks legit? If so, do they look to altered/polished? Crowns original or not? Constellation Ref 168.005 cal562 and ref 14900 (no cal pictures unfortunately)
Sellers accepts returns so I could risk having it properly checked within the return period..
First one is 1500€ second one 2100€..
Thank you guys!

This isn't the place for inquiries (see last few words of the thread title...), both for the sake of others and yourself. Create a new thread with your questions, it'll keep this one clean and focussed on what it's about and you're more likely to get better replies.

An evaluation of those two can be summed up with one word, though: "Pass". Both significantly polished, first one has an incorrect crown, the dial damage on the steel example is way beyond attractive, and the price for either one is completely unreasonable in that condition. No offense, but if you are unsure if the gold-capped example is polished and if the crown is correct, I'd strongly recommend taking a few more months to look at good examples here and compare them. You'll develop an eye for it and will make the hunt much easier (as well as possibly slightly frustrating as you start to realize how few of them are actually left in an attractive shape).
