Love the look but is anyone else concerned that the spacing of the minute marks (especially at 5-6 and 6-7) and wonky star may indicate a repaint?
It’s not a reference I’ve ever owned or been familiar with, these dials are quite sort of three dimensional so it may be the angle that makes it look so off at the bottom but its a bit hard to tell, its higher than I’d pay for a reference like that anyway though.

Didn’t check hard enough! Although don’t the stars sometimes appear a bit wonky?

Looks fine to me. These are really oddball Constellations, so I can't imagine anyone having good dies for redialing them to any credible level.

Are redials not hand painted?

Not usually.

Mostly done with something like this.

Some certainly are, both they are immediately reckognisable as such.

More popular references with certain dial types are redialed professionally with decent to excellent print, so on those you have to be more careful in vetting the watch.

Hi,
New member here. I’ve been searching for a 1960’s constellation for a while now and I think I found a nice one, does anybody think this is a legit or redial/fake?
168.005 cal 561,unfortunately seller doesn’t show any pictures of the movement.
1500€, what do you think?

It looks legit from the outside, but there are significant flaws:

1. Crown is incorrect replacement.

2. Dial is original, but shows signs of water damage.

3. Caseback is scratched.

4. Case has been heavily polished.

I think you can do better for €1,500, even in this crazy market. It just might take some time.

looks legit to me, a lot of bubbles on the dial though, some do like this, some don't, personally I prefer a good dial with less obvious wear and tear. And like the comment by Gatorcpa, it looks a little but over polished as can be seen in its spider lugs.

Gosh, didn't seem to be that much angle but I learn something here every day! (just have trouble remembering)

Just not what I'm used to seeing.

This Constellation hidden crown in gold-cap does have some patination and that should be factored into the bid, don’t overpay, but the patina isn’t too much so if you don’t mind it, the price might stay a bit lower than other Connies and stay within your budget.

Less than an hour left on this one and still only $665 so far for a jumbo piepan

Yea even with the patina its a very decent deal on a piepan. Lots of supply atm which is keeping prices down a bit, at the beginning of the year there was just nothing.

This is a cool piece you don’t see often, seller calls it ultra rare which is hyperbole, but its definitely uncommon.

Speedmaster 345.0810 titanium Teutonic moon phase, and probably the coolest of all the German models. There hasn’t been one of these tested in a no reserve auction in many years so im keen to see what the results are, but I think the 8-10k the lister is estimating is far too high and it will be more in the 4-6k range especially as there is a bit of wear and the hands appear to have been replaced in service. Extremely cool though.

Thanks! I see so many that sometimes it’s difficult to distinguish a good sample from a bad one, specially when it comes to the over polishing! Any advice for my search?

My advice, as I’m looking for similar too, is to be consistent and keep checking all the usual places. Be forensic, and also nail down exactly what ref you want as it makes searching easier
