2 hours left on this one... really curious to see where it goes as there isn't much precedent or reference for it

Went for 2250, for white gold and factory diamonds in a case that nice someone got a really good watch for the money. If it were branded Constellation it would have been 10 times as much.

Keep them coming @dsio. I am not in the market for a new purchase at the moment, but it is nice to see how an expert thinks about these things. Thanks for sharing your time and effort, it is appreciated and educational if nothing else.

This DeVille looks pretty awful in the photos due to the bent springbar and level of grime but its not a bad candidate for a clean and service to be a daily wearer. I always like opening the ones with bad photos, you can find some pieces that scrub up well with limited competition.

Nice, although I'm not sure that I would entrust it to Omega for service.
Bloody fantastic. Special!

This one I might even make a separate thread for as its interesting enough and rare enough to justify it. It’s an unusual jewelery line Omega from 1960 which has a lot of unusual features, it is 18k solid white gold, which is very unusual to begin with for this era of Omega, it had a factory diamond bezel, but importantly its not a ladies watch per se though it would definitely look good on a lady.

This is actually a 33mm case and I’ve had one on my wrist and found it to wear larger than many constellations of the era due to the lugs and thin bezel. It really has a very Patek Calatrava look and feel and this example is in nice condition too.

Oddly, this exact same watch is on my Ebay watchlist. The link above points to an auction that ended 08/22/2021 for $685USD seller is the same. Exact same photos on the current listing. Either it's back up because of a bad auction deal or...

NVM...same watch indeed but this time an auction listing vs Buy.

My eBay shows it as the same item relisted
I got cold feet and didn’t bid at all the first time. Maybe no one did?

There were no bids, that was the opening bid that he had set as a sort of reserve

Omega Geneve 131.070 in really nice shape, one of my favourite affordable references with calibre 601. This is the latter variant from around 1971/1972 that had the non-applied Omega symbol as the Calibre 1000 series automatics began to use at this time.

I actually messaged the seller asking if this was the same watch and he/she confirmed. The previous listing was for a buy it now and didn't sell. Now its listed as an auction. Still in my watchlist. Handsome watch and my birth year.

These tend to get enough watchers on their own but I do particularly like the non luminous solid gold dogleg piepans, it’d look better with a correct octagonal crown but given how much they’re a pain in the rear to use I’d probably just leave that one on it.

Not a pain at all if you have the right tool for the job. 👍 Wish that the lugs were a bit sharper on this one, but that's what you tend to get with solid gold.

This looks revolting in the photo and the dial isn’t perfect, it’s patinated but under the years of wrist snot and bad crystal is a quite pretty 2852 Constellation piepan and from the bezel and lugs it doesn’t look like it’s ever been polished as the edges are very sharp. It won’t end cheaply but arrowhead dials like that rarely do.

That’s a real barn find. Give me a couple of hours with that one and it will look real nice.

I don't know on that constellation. I asked for more photos earlier this week and it looks pretty rough

I thought the same thing. It appears to be in pretty rough shape to me. We’ll see what it sells for.

And seller says that he doesn’t know if it works.

Did you ask him to shake it gently?

I’d be mostly concerned about the dial damage, especially around 6-8 o clock. The case will clean up nicely, movement can be fixed or replaced, but I doubt the dial will turn out beautifully.
