That's a beauty. Not so sure on the C case De Ville. The hands aren't great, these never seem to selll well and once you factor in insured post and customs duties it's not that cheap. I happen to agree with you on their good points but people just don't seem to like them very much.

The De Ville is something I’d still make an offer on, theres a little corrosion on the second hand but not enough to really bother me, I think like that Geneves which I’m a big fan of they don’t quite get much attention but its a little bit sad as they’re great watches and they have the positives of good movements and decent-ish water resistance that other C-Cases have yet they get overlooked and ignored a lot. The Seamaster De Ville is definitely nicer but will no doubt go a fair bit higher as its a very attractive piece in many ways and has a lot of eyes on it

There was a very nice C case De Ville with a 552 which IIRC I posted in this thread a couple of years ago. Nobody was interested and I seem to remember it either went for about £380 or was unsold. In my opinion they and the Geneves are where the Seamaster De Ville line was about 5 years ago, ie. excellent but still unappreciated watches with everyone chasing Constellations instead. It will change, but it'll take time.

I don’t know if this Chrono24 offering is a good deal or not but it claims to be a 166.002 with a 565 movement. The asking price is certainly competitive.

Unpolished 14900, nice condition apart from engraved caseback.

Not a bad De Ville going off today, one of the more interesting dial furniture too
I should seriously unfollow this thread, it's turning into a real problem with all these watches I want to buy 😀 Going to have to get in on that De Ville action

Yea its weird how April May June which is sort of the dry season for watches typically I was hunting for a nice Seamaster or Connie for my girlfriend and found… basically nothing, the well was almost empty for that entire period and I’d scroll through thousands of listings without finding anything good at all, but now we’re heading back into the season where they change hands and there’s nice stuff appearing everywhere including some really rare and interesting pieces (and I got the piece for my GF too).
