24,4xx serial suggests it’s either a replaced case back or a replaced movement ( more likely the former).

·I always tend to like these, the US Steel logo doesn’t really hurt the watch to me like Sadam’s face or the Dominos logo does and they tend to be kept quite well as the owners were typically old and retiring when they were given them. The story combined with a nice elegant design with relatively decent WR for the era makes it worth following:
