I doubt there will be any problems with that movement given the condition of the rest of it. It will be a 550 - he says it's 17 jewels.
Okay, then you can't afford a Constellation at market value. That's okay. Stop posting about the price action of this one.
I’ll save the stalwarts the trouble here. First, introduce yourself. I don’t suspect you meant to barge in unannounced but knock first and please say hi. Like me and peeps like us, you’re asking advice from folks who spent ages learning and doing the requisite research, and whose expertise you hope to tap. Enough with the admonishing. Now on to your question. From one Seamaster seeking newbie to another...everyone is looking for a vintage Seamaster!!!! It’s the gateway Omega drug. Prices are all over the map. What shape is it in? What movement and what shape is that in? Year? Series? Seamaster, Geneve, 30, 600, De Ville? You get the idea. I saw a beautiful 1963 Seamaster De Ville auction off on eBay at $1650 CDN (>$1250USD) on the weekend. That, in my opinion, is insanity. But hey. Someone loved it that much so bless him or her. Check all the sites. You’ll soon get a feel for value.
Someone looking for an interesting Seamaster Cosmic could do worse than this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-SEAM...355929?hash=item2ccbc6ab99:g:APMAAOSwdjdaKA2qPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network The condition is good and it's a full set. Price about right, IMO.
Very nice. I got a good chuckle trying to read the Google translation of Italian to English in the description.
Advanced selling technique? Offers it twice the same time for 1100€ OPO and for 700€: https://www.ebay.de/itm/OMEGA-SEAMA...134042?hash=item2ccb0c2dda:g:8ZoAAOSwO7haKRK1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network https://www.ebay.de/itm/OMEGA-SEAMA...355929?hash=item2ccbc6ab99:g:APMAAOSwdjdaKA2qPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network What keeps me off a bit is hand winding
Recently a lot of newcomers have been looking for a good honest Seamaster De Ville. This looks like a nice example to me. I am not always drawn to this seller's watches (and they have listed this one twice, once as an auction and once as a pricey BIN) but I can't see anything wrong here. Monocoque / unishell / (whatever the f* it's called, I couldn't care less) case so the lack of a movement photo isn't automatically grounds for suspicion. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMEGA-SE...322121?hash=item3f8f223049:g:a9EAAOSwa3BaKsxZPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMEGA-SE...376230?hash=item41d6aa8f26:g:a9EAAOSwa3BaKsxZPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

While it does have something going for it, those lugs (and the bezel) have seen massive amounts of polishing and the crown is the wrong replacement. With dog-leg lugs, crisp condition is paramount - especially on gold capped versions as restoring the edges is next to impossible (and certainly not something that would be worthwhile).
A handful of quality looking 60's Seamaster's popped up from the same seller. Could be worth a shot if prices stay low. 1963 SMDV w/ Cross Hair dial https://www.ebay.com/itm/1963-OMEGA...Cross-Hairs-Dial-5-x-Signed-WOW-/282788682881Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network 1966 SMDV w/ 14K Solid Gold Bezel https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Vinta...Gold-Bezel-Automatic-Wristwatch-/282788638779Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network 1969 SMDV w/ 14K Solid Gold Case https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-OMEGA...matic-Wristwatch-cal-563-KM6610-/273001272588Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network 1967 Seamaster w/ Original Band https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-1967-...ch-Original-Band-165-002-cal-550/282788938458Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Get this piece a bit down in price and it will make for a very nice Constellation: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Cal-...d=222789156837&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Dial looks very nice and the case is unpolished and in very decent condition, it would seem. Buckle looks like a fake, but a hammer will put an end to that.
