Not the best price given the dial condition but I don't think it's outrageous either. These are really cool and don't come up often. Ref. 2748-2 36mm Geneve Manual Wind.

I was thinking more along the lines of, "I remember when @Hijak was a young boy catching blue crabs on the south shore of L.I., even then Ed was always punctual, careful to be home in time for dinner..................................................."

Oh yeah, is that what's been happening with his listings?

I've noticed him offering the same watch multiple times. The auctions run through and there is a "winner" but somehow they keep going back up. I'm sure sometimes there are flaky buyers, but I think other times the price isn't to his liking.
Example:
Mark III "sold" in October for $1300:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OME...553932?hash=item282206aa0c:g:RgUAAOSwOyJX-oqj
Note the beat up bezel

Then a Mark III sold in November for nearly $2k:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OME...977720?hash=item2824327278:g:gcEAAOSwXyVYJj0F

Both watches have the same case, dial, and movement serial. It looks like he sourced nicer bezel and got a better price a month later.

I know there has been concern expressed about this seller but I bought a pristine 18k 14381 from him a little while back
It wasn't cheap and I don't know if I was shilled but it arrived 2 days later by FedEx and I couldn't be happier
I was on another continent but it ain't for sale 馃榾
