Great recommendations, thank you. I'm in the market for a (preferably white dial/face) Seamaster around the £400 mark. Not much of a budget I know but hopefully this will be a positive (tentative!) first step into vintage watch buying...

Have been looking for a deal on this watch (though would prefer the 145.020). I know the 145.016 has a slightly different face and whatnot, but something seems a little off about this one. It's also very cheap right now, anyway. Anyone have further thoughts on this?

Looks like a nice one to me.

Cheap now, but will no doubt reach market value in the last 6 seconds.

True, but the bracelet (original one anyway) goes for a lot of money in its own right as far as I know. Of course, there's no mention of the bracelet being original or not.

Hi Robert,
Check this out
https://omegaforums.net/threads/seamaster-soccer-timer-145-016-review.1768/

I have the 145.020 and am not as familiar with the .016 but I think it looks ok.

Mine from 1972 has the engraved caseback, not the medallion, so that seems different.
A movement shot and inside caseback shot would sure make me feel better.
Welcome, and good luck!

By the way, the 1171 bracelet or the other (can't remember the darn number, 1034 maybe?) of the .016 is valuable but not as valuable as the 1170.
Maybe ask for underside of clasp, underside of end links, movement and inside caseback shots and then we will be in business!

Yes. I read that review. It was exceptionally helpful. I just get nervous with eBay and there's probably just not enough information on this watch for me to pull the trigger on it.

Seems like it will go cheap and is probably ok.
You've got to ask yourself, Do you feel lucky?

Robert, if you really want the .020, why take a chance?
If you just want to dabble, this might be a steal, or a robbery.
I would bet a steal, a bet with your money, of course!

1st Generation Omega Globemaster in nice original condition with a rarely seen original box:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ome...umper-Movement-34mm-Watch-w-Box-/301865136483

Case is Ref. 2648 (snapback), no movement picture, but could be a cal. 352. Not sure about the crown, but it can be replaced.

They raised the BIN price from $2495.00 to $2795.00. It wasn't snapped up at $2495.00, what makes them think it will go for $2795?

Yeah I looked at this
Nice watch but blemished dial put me off
Fairly well defined bezel but a lot of gunk around it
Gives possible concern about the movement
I know the earlier lugs were rounded but are these correct?
BTW that's an question not a statement

What blemishes on the dial? Some of the, what appears to be, rubbing or some of the other things that seem to appear, in other photos? I agree about the gunk. Especially, since it was " Professionally polished and inspected by out certified watchmaker". I think they would want their money back, unless that won't come off.

Perhaps I should have been more accurate and said general patina on the dial

The patina doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as the potential surprises inside the case. I'm really just fascinated by the price increase. Maybe the market it hotter than we know.

I've seen that frequently lately - watch doesn't sell at BIN price, seller relists watch with even higher BIN. I get that strategy if they include the best offer option, perhaps thinking that buyers are only offering 60% of the BIN maybe they bump up the BIN to a price where they would accept 60%. But I don't understand the logic on listings like this where the only option is BIN.

1. Gunk on bezel is cleanable, but some like to leave it to show age.
2. I would ask for movement shot before spending money. If seller doesn't want to show, then move on. Besides, you'd want to know if it is cal. 352 or 354 before making an offer anyway.
3. Lugs look correct for a Ref. 2648. These were always rounder and thinner than the later Ref. 2782, 2852, etc.

Hope this helps,
