The "funkiest" is now gone, did you get it?

No, auction timed out with no bids. Only had 30 mims to run when I posted it. Maybe we'll see it again.

Blue dial on this one. The other wasn't the NOS described, but pretty close.

That looks very nice. Still 9 days to go. I wonder how high it will climb ?
It won't go crazy as its not a special reference, just a nice early-ish example in very nice shape

I think it might. It's in very nice condition and has all the paperwork and box which people pay premium for.

Seller's feedback is concerning and they state it has never been worn - which is obviously not the case. [emoji848]

Not exactly a recommendation, but a Franken that might be worth buying for parts if a good offer price can be got

I asked the seller for some movement and inside case pics, It's a 1861, 44mil serial movement, with a reasonable DON bezel and 105.012-66 case back.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291670786038?ru=http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=291670786038&_rdc=1

Or maybe not - he was inviting offers, but has changed the listing to a buy it now only!!! He's also changed the description from speedmaster head only to speedmaster 105012 1966, so obviously unaware of what he has got

A DON bezel in slightly better condition recently went for $855 on eBay, and a 145.012 caseback went for $743. So, you've got around $1500 in parts on this - could be a decent pickup in the low-2's if the seller plays ball

Yeah that's what I was thinking, put a moon case back and second hand bezel on the watch and sell it on, and you might end up with a decent bezel and case back at a bargain price

Right on. Problem is, he thinks he's got a 105.012-66 from the caseback, though I think he's also aware that it should have a 321 inside. Unless someone's just gotta have that bezel (or caseback) right now, probably best to leave it for a while until he's willing to accept <$2500 US.

I think even with a new moon caseback and the lowest-priced replacement bezel you can find, you'll get less than $2k for the watch, which at this price point would still be fairly high for a nice bezel with a franken-watch attached to it
