Does anybody know what the import duties are approximately from USA to UK? For example if I prchased a watch for say $800. I appreciate postage is seperate. I think it relates to the value.

20% VAT on cost and postage and if it is sent by a postal company that pass over to Royal Mail, then you can add another 拢8 for RM's handling of the VAT.

The customs surcharge is also far more if FedEx handle the import charges.

Thanks. This can be a deal breaker depending on how good the ebay price is

Awesome Black Waffle 2852 coming up for auction in a week in Geneve. It looks like another slightly different and later version of the 18kt flat link bracelet. This one has single stretch links and a slightly longer clasp, a la 7912.

I麓ve been kidding myself for a couple of weeks that I麓m going to be in on the bidding but I now realise with an estimate of 6.6k-12k Euro plus commission the timings wrong and it just ain麓t gonna happen 馃檨

I hope one of you guys can land it 馃槈

That black dial looks extremely clean considering it is a vintage watch. Black dials scare me, even though they may be genuine they can hide things.

You're not going to get much better than that black dial constellation - as nice an example as you're likely to find and worth the estimate range IMO.

Indeed. I don't think Bacs & Co will let themselves be caught offering anything less than an excellent example in their maiden auction. The watches I saw at the NY preview (not this one) were all very accurately described and photographed in the catalog.
