I think he mean "Christmas season"...
Nope. He means watch season, as defined by ulackfocus actually close to Jan. through the end of March.
Start november ends april......😀

"Watch Season". Some of us subscribe to that theory and save our pennies for the February - April period.
Not so fast there bub. Some of my all time greatest homers have come in Spring Training (Seamaster DeLuxe pie pan, Constellation DeLuxe pie pan, Audemars ultra-thins, and a Jaeger or three). March is a fantastic time to snag watches. So let's say as the regular baseball season heats up, watch season cools down. When the play-offs are over, the fall run of stripers and watches should be in full swing.
Welcome to the Club! It is Winter Watch Season now.
I can explain why this is happening - it's watch season!!!
This is one of 2 or 3 references I'd eventually want to add, but the coffers need to be stuffed before hunting game of this size. This is a great thread.
I have watch season all year round - this is a great pity when I look at my bank account...😜
IIRC it starts November when people began release their collection probably to supplement their holiday fund, then continue when people feels they entitled for nice Christmas gift. After January big fat bonuses are disbursed so watch budget is high and people hunting their wish list high & low which continue until March. After April this madness slowly subside.
Interestingly it was mirrored by number of posts per day in this forum, which I tracked rather closely since March last year.
March-Apr 13 is around ~210 posts/day
From May-Sep 13 it went down to ~170-180 ppd .
From Sep-Nov 13 it was picking up to ~190-200 ppd.
Nov-Dec 13 it went up again to ~220 ppd.
From Jan 14 to April 14 it peaked from ~ 280 ppd to ~ 360 ppd.
From May 14 to Sep 14 it went down to ~310 ppd.
Of course number above need to be adjusted with consistent addition of new members etc that's why the trajectory is increasing in long term. However you still can see the cyclical pattern.
If Dennis is right, we will see a spike again soon where people busy asking what they want to buy and checking out their target.
I bought 2 this week as we are in the "fall run" 😁
Haha nov-apr.. quite a long season...
Not eBay, but here is a 18K manual wind Geneve in very nice shape: http://watchestobuy.com/Omega18k1968.htm
If you've been looking for a cal. 30T, this is really nice one. 30T2PC actually, which I believe has Incabloc shock protection. Original strap & tags, looks barely worn. And a nice size @ 35mm.
Won't go cheap though, in this condition...
